On Friday, the Edmonton Oilers returned to the ice after a day of R & R in Palm Springs. It was a high-tempo practice with the team suiting up for an afternoon game tomorrow in Los Angeles.

Head coach Craig MacTavish announced that defenceman Denis Grebeshkov will be out four to six weeks. Bob Stauffer also spoke one-on-one with Oilers GM Steve Tambellini about the team's situation on defence and how the injuries affect the team's needs going into the trade deadline.

We also spoke with Fernando Pisani, who is skating with the team on the road. He gives an update on his injury status, noting that he will likely not play on this current road trip.
