Scored 0-4-4 with 58 PIM and was -15 in 65 GP... scored points in 4 of 65 GP and was plus or even in 41 of 65 GP...averaged 17:51 minutes of ice time per game...played season-high 24:23 at CGY on Nov. 10...scored assists vs MIN (Oct. 25), vs COL (Nov. 22), at WAS (Jan. 17) & vs CHI (Feb. 6)... played in his 100th career Oilers/NHL game at STL (Dec. 11)...began season with Springfield Falcons, scoring 1-4-5 with 15 PIM & was +3 in 8 GP for Oilers AHL affiliate before being recalled on Oct. 24...led Oilers with season-high four hits and six blocked shots at WAS (Jan. 17).

2006-07:

Scored 3-7-10 with 37 PIM and was -16 in 77 GP with the Oilers in his first NHL season..was 4th on Oilers in blocked shots (107)....made Oilers/ NHL debut in season opener vs CGY (Oct. 5)...registered first career Oilers/NHL PIM with a roughing minor in the season opener vs CGY (Oct. 5)...became the sixth Oilers named to the NHL YoungStars Game on Jan. 13...scored 0-1-1 and was -3 in 12:57 of ice time in the NHL YoungStars Game at Dallas on Jan. 23...scored first career Oilers/ NHL goal at CBJ on Feb. 22 vs Fredrik Norrena...also scored goals vs TBL (Mar. 7) & at CGY (Apr. 7)...averaged 19:14 minutes of ice time per game...played career-high 30:03 vs ANA (Nov. 28/06)...two of his seven assists came on game-winning goals – Oct. 12 vs SJ & Oct. 21 vs DET...the assist vs SJ on Oct. 12th came on Ryan Smyth’s GWG and was his first career Oilers/NHL assist and point.

2005-06:

Third in scoring among defencemen on Portland Pirates (AHL) with 28 points (3-25-28) in 71 games played... registered two assists in the Pirates 4-1 win at Bridgeport on Oct. 22...scored his first AHL goal on Nov. 25 in the Pirates 5-4 OTL at Providence...scored a goal in the Pirates 7-4 win in Albany on Jan. 20...recorded two assists in the Pirates 6-3 win at Providence on Mar. 19...played in the 2006 World Junior Championships with the Czech National Junior Team in Vancouver, recording a goal and an assist.

2004-05:

After completing his third season with HC Liberec in the Czech Republic, Smid recorded one goal and three assists for four points with 14 penalty minutes in 39 games. He was scoreless in 12 playoff games with 6 penalty minutes.

2003-04:

Played 45 games, registering a goal and an assist for two points with 51 penalty minutes...2002-03: Was scoreless in four games with Liberec.

INTERNATIONAL:

Has represented the Czech Republic at the last two world championships...played six games for the Czech Republic at the 2007 World Championship in Moscow & was a member of his national team in 2008, but did not play in any games in Halifax & Quebec City...played for the Czech Republic in three straight World Junior Hockey Championships from 2004 through 2006...helped lead the Czech World Junior team to a bronze medal in 2005, recording two assists in seven games... played six games in the 2004 World Junior Championships, recording a goal and two assists for three points with four penalty minutes.
