17:36: On the very next shift, Mike Brown scores to give the Oilers an early 1-0 lead. | EDM 1, CHI 0
17:00: Sam Gagner has a great chance in the slot but just narrowly misses. The puck cycles back to the high slot where Magnus Paajarvi feeds a pass over to Gagner at the left side of the net. This time, Gagner makes no mistake, rifling it past Blackhawks starting goaltender Ray Emery. | EDM 2, CHI 0
11:07: Shots on goal nearly nine minutes into the game were 7-2 for Edmonton.
10:41: Oilers extend their lead to 3-0. Ryan Whitney pinches down low and is spotted by Taylor Hall with a seeing-eye pass across the ice. Whitney makes no mistake, firing a wrist shot behind Emery. | EDM 3, CHI 0

FIRST PERIOD NOTES
The goal by Brown was his first as an Oiler and first since February 29, 2012 -- a 23-game scoreless drought. ... Oilers were only 26% in the faceoff circle in the period (6-for-23). ... Every Blackhawks skater had a minus-one rating with the exceptions being Bryan Bickell, Andrew Shaw and Michael Frolik.
12:09: Jonathan Toews beats Jeff Petry wide and skates in behind the net before spotting Hossa in the slot. Hossa puts the puck in to narrow the gap to two. | EDM 4, CHI 2
11:29: Nick Leddy takes a holding penalty, giving Edmonton their second man advantage of the game.
10:15: On the penalty kill, Hossa plowed into Dubnyk on a scoring opportunity for the Blackhawks. Dubnyk made a nice save, kicking out his left pad but was shaken up on the play. He needed to be tended to by the Oilers training staff and was replaced in goal by Yann Danis.
9:32: The power play continues as Horcoff is stationed in front of the net and converts a feed across the ice by Nugent-Hopkins to get the Oilers a three-goal lead once again. | EDM 5, CHI 2
5:53: Chicago takes the lead in shots for the first time in the game, 19 to 18 over the Oilers.
5:38: Ales Hemsky breaks in all alone on Crawford and tries the deke but just misses the mark. Duncan Keith slashes Hemsky on the play and gets two minutes for his efforts.
4:55: The Blackhawks skate down the ice on a two-on-one shorthanded. Danis makes the first save on Hossa and the rebound by Brookbank but the puck then goes in off Brookbank's chest and finds its way into the back of the net. | EDM 5, CHI 3
4:04: The Oilers get that goal back in less than a minute. Nugent-Hopkins fired a shot from the left circle that was redirected into the back of the net by Hall. | EDM 6, CHI 3
2:58: Brent Seabrook takes a feed from Kane and fires it past Danis to draw the Blackhawks back within a pair once again. | EDM 6, CHI 4
0:00: Shots on goal after two periods were 26 to 21 for the Blackhawks.

12:54: Dave Bolland spotted Kane at the right circle where he made no mistake, wristing it past Danis to draw the Blackhawks to within a goal. | EDM 6, CHI 5
7:45: Off the rush, Danis made a nice save off Brookbank from point-blank range and on the same play, Nick Schultz was penalized for playing with a broken stick to give Chicago the man advantage with a chance to tie the game.
