BLOG: Eakins on why he pulled Dubnyk

Down 3-0 with eight minutes to play in the game, Oilers Head Coach Dallas Eakins made the decision to pull goaltender Devan Dubnyk in favour of an extra attacker.

"We couldn't get shots 5-on-5 and listen, it was three-nothing," said Eakins. "What's the difference in four-nothing? I said to Keith Acton, if we get an offensive zone far-off, I'm pulling him now. Why wait? Then if we could get one, usually we put a team on their heels. If you lose three-nothing or four-nothing there's no difference."

The Stars would score on the empty-net to make the final score 4-0.
