Inside the Oilers

Oilers forward Taylor Hall has been attempting to adjust to a new role as a centre while filling in for an injured Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

In his new role tonight, on a line with Jordan Eberle and Ryan Smyth, Hall registered six shots and won 53% of his faceoffs while playing 16:31.

Eberle thought he played very well tonight in a 4-1 win over Vancouver.

“I was very impressed with how he played,” said Eberle. “He was always on the right side of the puck and making a lot of good plays. I think he did quite well on his draws too.

“With the absence of (Nugent-Hopkins), he’s been able to step in and do well. I think he has so much speed up through the middle that he can definitely be a threat and be dangerous.”
