Oilers acquire Philip Larsen, draft pick
General Manager Craig MacTavish has announced that the Oilers have acquired defenceman Philip Larsen and a 2016 seventh-round draft choice from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Shawn Horcoff.

Larsen, a right-handed 23-year-old, appeared in 32 games with the Stars last season, notching a pair of goals and three assists while averaging 14:52 per game in ice time.

The Esbjerg, Denmark native was drafted by the Stars in the fifth round, 149th overall in 2008.

Horcoff, 34, played 12 seasons in Edmonton. Drafted in the fourth round, 99th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-1, 208-pound pivot has tallied 162 goals and 447 points in 796 career NHL games, all of which have been played with the Oilers.

In 35 career post-season games, including the 24 that were played during the club's run to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final in 2006, the product of Trail, British Columbia recorded 10 goals and 23 points.

Horcoff was named as the 13th captain in Oilers history on Oct. 6, 2010.
